In-charge of technology and project implementation
Before co-founding Gram Oorja, Prasad worked as an energy auditor and in the manufacturing industry. At Gram Oorja he is the in-charge of technology and design for rural, community based energy projects and heads the project development and execution team.
Prasad holds a B.E. and an M. Tech in Energy Systems, both from the University of Pune. He is also a Certified Energy Auditor, with 3 years of experience of conducting energy audits for various chemical, pharmaceutical, and engineering industries and commercial buildings. Discover More on
Aarti, from Pune, joined Gram Oorja in 2017 and plays a key role in engineering and project implementation. She manages business development, collaborations and project management from conception to commissioning in Maharashtra for microgrids, solar pumping and other electrification projects.
She holds a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) in Mechanical Engineering (2014) and a Master’s in Heat Power (2017). Aarti completed internships at SKF India and Forbes Marshall and worked as an Engineer Trainee at Forbes Marshall.
Hailing from Sonahan Village in Kaimur District, Bihar, Ambrish joined Gram Oorja in 2020. He has a strong track record in logistics management and project execution under demanding conditions. His contributions were noteworthy during a large solar microgrid project in 2022, which served 200 households and was completed within 35 days.
Ambrish holds a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Mechanical Engineering. His professional background includes roles such as Engineer Trainee at Asia Motor Works Limited in Gujarat, Service Engineer at Mahindra Ganpati Tractor in Bihar, and Service Engineer at SNS NDT Services in Jharkhand.
Ashish, based in Varanasi, is the Head of Operations for Eastern India at Gram Oorja. His leadership ensures the smooth execution of projects in the region. In addition, Ashish is part of the senior management team at Gram Oorja.
Ashish holds a degree in Electrical Engineering, earned in 2012, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Electrical Safety Management. He joined Gram Oorja in 2013. He is currently pursuing an executive programme from IIM-Lucknow.
Based in Pune, Harshada joined the team in January 2025 as part of the office administration unit, where she handles accounts-related responsibilities.
She holds a B.Com degree from Pune University (2001) and brings over 19 years of experience in finance and accounting.
Kiran, who hails from Parner, Maharashtra has been with Gram Oorja since 2011. He has been involved with all kinds of Gram Oorja’s projects and currently focuses on business development activities apart from being a part of the senior management team at the company.
Kiran holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering, completed in 2011. He is currently pursuing an Executive MBA from PUMBA to further enhance his professional capabilities.
Mahendra Chourasiya hails from Satara, Maharashtra, and has been a part of Gram Oorja since 2019. Being involved in almost all kinds of projects, he currently leads the installation and maintenance team for grid-tied solar systems and brings expertise in energy assessment and solar simulation software to his role.
Mahendra holds a BE in Electronics and Telecommunications, completed in 2016, and is currently pursuing an MTech in Energy. Before joining Gram Oorja, he worked as a Research Fellow at the Design Innovation Centre, Vigyan Ashram, Pabal.
Rahul Karekar hails from Mandivali Village in Ratnagiri District of Maharashtra. He has been part of Gram Oorja since 2015 and has experience in biogas plant installation maintenance since 2007. He has been invaluable for Gram Oorja in logistics management for large-scale community projects.
Rahul holds a BA in Economics. He brings over 15 years of experience in the energy access sector, having worked at a biogas company in Maharashtra, between 2008 and 2014.
Sanjay Pansare, from Pune, Maharashtra, is a General Manager, Procurement at Gram Oorja, a role he has held since 2023. Sanjay has over 30 years of extensive experience in supply chain management across various industries.
He holds a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) degree from Pune University and a Postgraduate Diploma in Logistics and Materials Management (PGDLM) from the Indian Institute of Materials Management (IIMM).
Shreyas hails from Nagpur, Maharashtra, and is based there for his work with Gram Oorja. He has been with Gram Oorja since 2015. Shreyas has various roles at Gram Oorja, from designing to technology development and has worked across almost all the applications including large grid-tied systems, micro-grids, institutional solar systems and pumping. He has also led both of Gram Oorja’s international projects, in Ethiopia and Lesotho.

He completed the ITI Electrician course and has nine years of work experience. Subhash spent five years as a Senior Technician at Riddhi Siddhi Cement Plant in Nepal and four years as an Electrical technician at APT Engineering in Delhi.

He also spent a year managing operations at ICAPOTECH in Mumbai and two years as the Technical Head at Motorodi Automobile Services.
Originally from Agra and currently residing in Delhi, Arjit has been associated with Gram Oorja since 2022. He supports the development of new project clusters in North India and assists with the organization’s social media outreach and website management.

Dipak, from Mamurabad Village in Jalgaon, Maharashtra, has been part of the solar pump installation team in Maharashtra since 2023. His expertise in agricultural systems and renewable energy has been important in completing successful installations that address the needs of farming communities.
He holds a B. Voc. In Agriculture (2022). He has also completed a 45-day Field Officer Agriculture course from Tata Strive at Sahyadri Farms, Nashik. He is currently pursuing an MBA from an Open University.
Kalki joined in 2022, initially as an intern, and has worked in multiple areas for the company since. He is involved in project documentation and proposal writing and has facilitated multiple independent third-party assessment teams in data collection and documentation. He is also part of the marketing and website development team.

He has been a part of Gram Oorja since 2017, playing a key role in coordinating with NGO partners and local communities. He leads exposure visits for farmers and beneficiaries to completed project sites and oversees installation work in the Wada area of Maharashtra.

Hailing from Phaltan, Nikhil holds a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from the Government Polytechnic, Karad (2009), and a B.Tech in Agricultural Engineering from MIT, Aurangabad (2013). He has been a passionate farmer since 2013.
From 2013 to 2016, Nikhil worked as a Project Engineer at a biogas company in Maharashtra. Since 2016, he has been associated with Gram Oorja, focusing on solar pumping projects. He does need assessment, design and selection for solar pumps and leads the maintenance team for water pumping projects.
Pankaj hails from the village of Dehare Borichapada in Palghar, Maharashtra and holds a Diploma in Education completed in 2012. He has been with Gram Oorja since 2016.
Pankaj’s strengths lie in understanding the challenges faced by end users and identifying solutions that address their needs effectively. He also provides critical back-office support to the installation team, ensuring seamless execution in remote locations. Pankaj is also an essential member of the solar rooftop survey and installation team.
Hailing from Pune, Pankaj has been associated with Gram Oorja since 2017. He is involved in NGO partner outreach and identification, as well as new area identification.

Ramesh hails from the village of Kalamb in Palghar District, Maharashtra. He has been associated with Gram Oorja since 2018, bringing his technical expertise to the implementation of biogas projects, focusing on pipeline distribution and connections.
He holds an ITI Mechanic Course certificate (2016) and a Diploma in Agricultural Sciences (2022) and is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree through an open university.
Raushan hails from Ranchi and has been working with Gram Oorja since 2016. He has been instrumental in implementing solar projects like solar microgrids and solar pumps, and has also become an important contributor to biogas installations.
He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree and has 20 years of freelance experience in installing and servicing electrical equipment. He has earlier served as the Service Head for Jharkhand at Adonis Medical Equipment for four years.
Satish Baiga is from Diya Patthar village in the Simdega District of Jharkhand. He has been associated with Gram Oorja since 2023 and completed his ITI that same year. Having experienced living without electricity throughout his life, he is motivated to bring electricity to other households.
He is a great team player and adapts to any environment, helping him accomplish diverse tasks effectively.

He is adept at successfully executing projects in some of the most remote areas, often sourcing local manpower and materials to streamline installations.

Shrihari Dharmadhikari, from Pune, has been associated with Gram Oorja since 2022, bringing over 20 years of experience in EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) project companies. His expertise is especially valuable to the biogas projects that the company handles.
Shrihari holds a Diploma in Petrochemical Engineering (DPCE) from the Institute of Petrochemical Engineering, Lonere (1998), a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Pune University (2001), and a Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering from Pune University (2010).
Sushil Palai, from Kusumi Village of Kendrapara District, Odisha, joined Gram Oorja in 2016. As the senior-most member of the Ranchi team, he brings valuable experience and leadership to his role in warehouse management. Sushil is known for his approachable nature and the supportive environment he cultivates among his colleagues.
He has previously had 23 years of experience as a Site in charge at Enfield Industry Private Limited.
Hailing from Manchar, Maharashtra, Swapnil manages survey data, project management and new cluster development at Gram Oorja. Building on his experience in community mobilization through the 'Vayam' movement, his expertise has been vital in the effective planning and execution of renewable energy projects in rural geographies across the country.
Swapnil began his professional journey with the 'Vayam' movement in Jawhar, where he worked from 2014 to 2017. In 2017, he contributed to the 'KISAN' Forum which organizes India’s largest agricultural fair. He has been associated with Gram Oorja since 2018.
Tukaram hails from Chauk Village in Palghar District, Maharashtra and has been associated with Gram Oorja since 2017. His role includes solar microgrid installations in Jharkhand and Maharashtra. His background in renewable energy and team management makes him a valuable contributor to Gram Oorja’s installation team.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Rural Development and a Diploma in Basic Rural Technology (DBRT) from Vigyan Ashram. Before joining Gram Oorja, he worked with Pragati Pratishthan on renewable energy projects for 4 years.
Vikas Kumar hails from the village of Patei Aiman in Block Dhanaura, Amroha, Uttar Pradesh. He has been associated with Gram Oorja since 2022 and completed his ITI in 2024. He is currently pursuing his Polytechnic Diploma.
He is part of the solar project execution team, where his problem-solving mindset often helps the team navigate challenging situations.
Vishwanath is from Dehre village of Palghar District, Maharashtra. Since working with Gram Oorja in 2021, he has quickly become a key contributor to the organization’s solar pump installations. He frequently travels across India to conduct surveys, manage installations, and provide servicing.
He completed his ITI wireman training in 2009 and previously worked as a technician for three years at Dhirubhai Ambani Knowledge City and two years in the Nashik industrial sector.
Vivek is, from Dongar Haladi Tukum in the Chandrapur District, Maharashtra and has been with Gram Oorja since 2021. He specializes in the installation and servicing of solar pumps.
Vivek holds an ITI Electrician qualification and completed an apprenticeship with Maharashtra Transmission Company in 2017. He has also worked for two years in a solar installation team in Chandrapur installing solar pumps.

Raushan hails from Ranchi and has been working with Gram Oorja since 2016. He has been instrumental in implementing solar projects like solar microgrids and solar pumps, and has also become an important contributor to biogas installations.
He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree and has 20 years of freelance experience in installing and servicing electrical equipment. He has earlier served as the Service Head for Jharkhand at Adonis Medical Equipment for four years.
Satish Baiga is from Diya Patthar village in the Simdega District of Jharkhand. He has been associated with Gram Oorja since 2023 and completed his ITI that same year. Having experienced living without electricity throughout his life, he is motivated to bring electricity to other households.
He is a great team player and adapts to any environment, helping him accomplish diverse tasks effectively.
Hailing from the village of Zaap in Palghar District, Maharashtra, Satish has been associated with Gram Oorja since 2016. He specializes in installing solar pumps and off-grid solar systems. He is adept at successfully executing projects in some of the most remote areas, often sourcing local manpower and materials to streamline installations.
He completed his ITI Electrician course and interned with Don Bosco. He is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree from an open university.
Shrihari Dharmadhikari, from Pune, has been associated with Gram Oorja since 2022, bringing over 20 years of experience in EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) project companies. His expertise is especially valuable to the biogas projects that the company handles.
Shrihari holds a Diploma in Petrochemical Engineering (DPCE) from the Institute of Petrochemical Engineering, Lonere (1998), a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Pune University (2001), and a Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering from Pune University (2010).
Sushil Palai, from Kusumi Village of Kendrapara District, Odisha, joined Gram Oorja in 2016. As the senior-most member of the Ranchi team, he brings valuable experience and leadership to his role in warehouse management. Sushil is known for his approachable nature and the supportive environment he cultivates among his colleagues.
He has previously had 23 years of experience as a Site in charge at Enfield Industry Private Limited.
Hailing from Manchar, Maharashtra, Swapnil manages survey data, project management and new cluster development at Gram Oorja. Building on his experience in community mobilization through the 'Vayam' movement, his expertise has been vital in the effective planning and execution of renewable energy projects in rural geographies across the country.
Swapnil began his professional journey with the 'Vayam' movement in Jawhar, where he worked from 2014 to 2017. In 2017, he contributed to the 'KISAN' Forum which organizes India’s largest agricultural fair. He has been associated with Gram Oorja since 2018.
Tukaram hails from Chauk Village in Palghar District, Maharashtra and has been associated with Gram Oorja since 2017. His role includes solar microgrid installations in Jharkhand and Maharashtra. His background in renewable energy and team management makes him a valuable contributor to Gram Oorja’s installation team.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Rural Development and a Diploma in Basic Rural Technology (DBRT) from Vigyan Ashram. Before joining Gram Oorja, he worked with Pragati Pratishthan on renewable energy projects for 4 years.
Vikas Kumar hails from the village of Patei Aiman in Block Dhanaura, Amroha, Uttar Pradesh. He has been associated with Gram Oorja since 2022 and completed his ITI in 2024. He is currently pursuing his Polytechnic Diploma.
He is part of the solar project execution team, where his problem-solving mindset often helps the team navigate challenging situations.
Vishwanath is from Dehre village of Palghar District, Maharashtra. Since working with Gram Oorja in 2021, he has quickly become a key contributor to the organization’s solar pump installations. He frequently travels across India to conduct surveys, manage installations, and provide servicing.
He completed his ITI wireman training in 2009 and previously worked as a technician for three years at Dhirubhai Ambani Knowledge City and two years in the Nashik industrial sector.
Vivek is, from Dongar Haladi Tukum in the Chandrapur District, Maharashtra and has been with Gram Oorja since 2021. He specializes in the installation and servicing of solar pumps.
Vivek holds an ITI Electrician qualification and completed an apprenticeship with Maharashtra Transmission Company in 2017. He has also worked for two years in a solar installation team in Chandrapur installing solar pumps.
Vivek comes from Kalamvihira, a village in Palghar District, Maharashtra and has been associated with Gram Oorja since 2017, contributing his technical expertise to the installation of off-grid solar plants and pumps. He also collaborates with other colleagues to handle house wiring for solar micro-grids in remote areas across India.
He completed his ITI Electrician course (2014) and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree (2017) through an open university. Previously, he gained valuable experience installing battery backup systems.
Vivek is from Mandawa in the Jhunjhunu district of Rajasthan. He is actively involved in developing new project clusters in North India, focusing on Rajasthan. He has been associated with Gram Oorja since 2023.
Vivek holds a Bachelor’s degree in History (2007) and a Degree in Hotel Management (2012). He began his career in the hospitality industry in Jaipur and later worked in Ethiopia for two years.
