Biogas Cooking Grid
Gurukul Residential Campus, Replacing 100 Kg coal/ day
Commissioned: April, 2024
In Bada Akhara, situated in Maihar Tehsil of Madhya Pradesh, more than 100 students reside and study Vedic scriptures. The system functions like a Gurukul, where students and teachers reside on campus for the majority of their time. Apart from the teachers and students, around 50 devotees stay at the campus each day. Since April 2024, apart from roti making, all the cooking has been done using biogas. The plant was commissioned by the support of HTPCO & Y4D. 1000 kg of dung is fed daily to target the replacement of 100 kg coal previously used to meet cooking needs.
HTPCO are a leader in manufacturing special purpose machines for the Oil
and Gas industry, and Y4D is an organization focused on empowering the
underprivileged through education.
HTPCO’s commitment to clean cooking and Y4D’s dedication to educational
empowerment have made this project a cornerstone for promoting
sustainable practices.
